What Are They Known For Handmade tamales (the signature), margaritas (consistently recognized as the best in Las Vegas), menudo on Sundays, and an experience that feels like walking into a Mexican family's home. Multiple-time winner of Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Margaritas by the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Best of Las Vegas. Brand Values Family: everything starts and ends here. The Martinez family, the staff, and the customers are all part of the same family. This is not a corporate restaurant. This is a home that happens to serve food. Tradition: recipes passed down through generations, handmade processes that never changed, ingredients imported from Mexico. We don't cut corners and we don't modernize what doesn't need modernizing. Immigrant Pride: the story of Doña María is the story of the American Dream built with Mexican hands. We carry that pride in everything we do without ever making it a marketing gimmick. It's just who we are. Community: we are not a tourist spot. We are a Las Vegas institution. Our customers are locals, regulars, families who have been coming for decades. We are part of the fabric of this city. Authenticity: nothing about this brand is manufactured. The food is real, the people are real, the story is real. If it's on the plate, someone made it by hand that morning. Brand Voice Warm, proud, playful, confident but never arrogant. We speak like family, not like a corporation. We mix English and Spanish naturally because that's how we actually talk. We are funny when the moment calls for it and emotional when it matters. We never beg for attention the food, the story, and the people speak for themselves. What Content Should Always Feel Like Walking into abuela's kitchen. Warm, loud, full of life, and you always leave fuller than when you arrived not just from the food, but from the feeling.

About DOÑA MARIA TAMALES

Description

Doña María Tamales is a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas, open since 1980. Founded by Alfredo and Elvia Martinez, Mexican immigrants who arrived in the U.S. with almost nothing and built a restaurant that has become a Las Vegas institution. Today the business is run by the third generation of the Martinez family. Two locations: Downtown (910 S Las Vegas Blvd) and Summerlin (3205 N Tenaya Way). The Story Behind DMT Alfredo was a soccer player in Mexico, Elvia was a cheerleader. He emigrated to the U.S., worked construction in California, and eventually moved to Las Vegas with Elvia. They opened their first location with just 4 tables on the corner of 10th and Charleston. Every recipe comes from Alfredo's mother and grandmother. The corn husks and chiles are imported directly from Mexico. Every tamale is handmade, one by one, with the same process and the same love as day one. Employees who have been with the family for over 25 years are not staff they are family.
